Carrie Anne Fleming, a Canadian actress known for her roles in horror productions such as “iZombie” and “Supernatural,” died on February 26 in Sidney, British Columbia, at the age of 51.
A Career Spanning Three Decades
Fleming’s passing was confirmed by Jim Beaver, her co-star on “Supernatural,” who shared the news with Variety. Fleming was born on August 16, 1974, in Digby, Nova Scotia, and attended Mount Douglas Senior Secondary in Victoria, B.C. She also studied drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and the Kidco Theatre Dance Company in Victoria.
Early Roles and Breakthroughs
Fleming began her career with a recurring role on “Viper” and an uncredited appearance in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore.” She continued to grab on small roles before being cast in Dario Argento’s “Masters of Horror” in 2005, where she played a disfigured woman with cannibalistic tendencies in the episode “Jenifer.” She also appeared in horror shows like “The Tooth Fairy” and “Bloodsuckers.”
‘Supernatural’ and ‘iZombie’
Fleming is perhaps best known for her recurring role as Karen Singer, the wife of Bobby Singer (played by Jim Beaver), on the CW’s “Supernatural.” She appeared in three episodes of the popular horror-drama. She later had a five-season recurring role as Candy Baker on the CW’s “iZombie.”

Jim Beaver shared an emotional tribute to Fleming on Facebook, describing her as “a powerhouse of vitality and goodwill” with “a rapturous laugh and an utterly adorable personality.” He recounted meeting her on the set of “Supernatural” and falling in love, noting the challenges of a long-distance relationship due to their respective locations in California and Canada.

Cause of Death
Fleming died of complications from breast cancer, according to Beaver.
