Tesla Cybertruck Explosion Rocks Trump Hotel in Las Vegas
A shocking incident unfolded on Wednesday outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas when a Tesla Cybertruck burst into flames, killing the driver and injuring seven others. The FBI is investigating the incident as a potential act of terrorism.
Eyewitness Accounts and Police Response
Videos captured by witnesses at the hotel show a horrific scene: the Cybertruck engulfed in flames, smoke billowing out, and debris scattering across the ground.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill confirmed the incident during a press conference, stating, “Obviously a Cybertruck, the Trump hotel – there’s lots of questions that we have to answer.”
The incident occurred just hours after a truck plowing into a crowd of New Year’s Day revelers in New Orleans, leaving 15 dead. Both the Cybertruck involved in the Las Vegas incident and the vehicle used in the New Orleans attack were rented through the car-sharing service Turo.
FBI Investigation and Potential Terrorism Link
FBI special agent in charge Jeremy Schwartz addressed the public, stating, “I know everybody’s interested in that word, and trying to see if we can say, ‘Hey, this is a terrorist attack.’ That is our goal, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
The FBI has identified the driver of the Cybertruck, who rented the vehicle in Colorado, but has not yet released their name to the public.
Telemetry data from the vehicle is also being analyzed as part of the investigation.
Elon Musk’s Response and Call to Action

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a vocal supporter of President Trump, weighed in on the incident, stating that the explosion was unrelated to the Cybertruck itself.
The Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, part of the Trump Organisation, was evacuated following the explosion and most visitors were relocated to a nearby hotel.
This incident raises serious questions about security at high-profile locations and the potential dangers of increasingly powerful vehicle technology. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
