A wanted fugitive, identified as Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, 39, who was shot and killed by Dallas police on Wednesday night, was part of the security detail for U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett, sources told CBS News Texas. Robinson, who used the alias “Mike King,” was likewise running a business that placed off-duty police officers in various jobs.

Background and Criminal History

Robinson was wanted for impersonating a law enforcement officer and had allegedly claimed to be a detective with U.S. Capitol Police while operating Off Duty Police Services, an online platform connecting North Texas officers with off-duty operate. According to reports, he was the subject of a federal investigation.

CBS News Texas uncovered a criminal history for Robinson consisting of seven arrests for theft between 2009 and 2012 in Dallas, Duncanville, Irving, Dallas County, and by the Texas Department of Public Safety. He pleaded guilty to all charges, resulting in fines of no more than $2,500 and probation sentences ranging from one to ten years.

Connection to Representative Crockett

Despite his criminal background, Robinson, operating under the alias Mike King, secured a security role for Representative Jasmine Crockett, both in office and during her recent U.S. Senate campaign. Images obtained by CBS News Texas show Robinson standing close to Crockett at events and on the campaign trail. He also oversaw security teams at downtown Dallas hotels and his church.

Additional Allegations

Law enforcement sources also allege that Robinson drove a replica undercover police vehicle and used license plates stolen from cars outside a military recruiting office. He was reportedly using his security placement service to promote security jobs for the upcoming FIFA World Cup games in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for $90 an hour.

Investigation and Responses

Documents obtained by CBS News Texas show payments made to a person named Mike King for “security services” from Representative Crockett as recently as last year, including a payment of $340. The details of his hiring and overall earnings remain unclear.

Representative Crockett’s staff and the Dallas Police Department have not yet provided comments on the matter. U.S. Capitol Police have also not responded to inquiries regarding whether Robinson underwent a criminal background check.
