Diego Abatantuono, Laura Morante, and Giancarlo Giannini will headline the “Incontri d’Attore” cultural festival in Bellaria Igea Marina from Saturday to Monday. The free event, organized by Fondazione Verdeblu in collaboration with Approdi and Frangenti, features intimate storytelling sessions and musical accompaniment in Piazzale Kennedy.

Diego Abatantuono replaces Sabrina Ferilli for Saturday opening

Diego Abatantuono will open the festival on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. in Piazzale Kennedy. According to event organizers, Abatantuono stepped into the schedule to replace actress Sabrina Ferilli, who is currently unavailable due to filming commitments. Organizers described the acquisition of the veteran actor as a “true success,” noting his versatility as both a comedian and a dramatic performer.

Abatantuono’s career spans half a century of Italian cinema, with recognized roles in Eccezzziunale… veramente, Mediterraneo, and Marrakech Express. His appearance marks the start of a series designed to move beyond a traditional red-carpet experience toward a more personal connection with the audience.

Laura Morante and Giancarlo Giannini headline Sunday and Monday

The festival continues Sunday with Laura Morante. Known for her roles in Bianca, La stanza del figlio, and Ferie d’agosto, Morante’s session will be accompanied by a musical ensemble featuring Darma, Luca Quadrelli on saxophone, and performers on double bass and guitar.

The event concludes Monday with Giancarlo Giannini. Giannini brings an international profile to the stage, having earned an Oscar nomination for Pasqualino Settebellezze. His cinematic legacy includes performances in Mimì metallurgico, Travolti da un insolito destino, and the Bond film Casino Royale. Saxophonist Marco Zurzolo will provide the musical accompaniment for Giannini’s appearance.

Festival goals and attendance details

The “Incontri d’Attore” series is a joint effort between Fondazione Verdeblu and the cultural entities Approdi and Frangenti. Paolo Borghesi, president of Verdeblu, stated that the initiative is intended as an “intimate journey” for the actors, aiming to deepen the public’s appreciation for the artists.

All scheduled events are open to the public. According to the organizers, there is no admission fee and no reservation is required for attendees to enter the venue in Piazzale Kennedy.
