Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić delivered a historic performance, scoring a season-high 60 points in a 134-126 victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday night. The win extends the Lakers’ winning streak to a season-best eight games.

Dončić’s scoring outburst, the most ever against the Heat, surpassed the previous record of 58 points held by James Harden, achieved whereas playing for the Houston Rockets on February 28, 2019.1

Adding to the Lakers’ triumph, LeBron James recorded a triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists.2 This performance came on a night where James as well tied the NBA record for most regular-season games played, reaching 1,611 games.1 He became the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double.1

The Lakers (45-25) overcame a 15-point deficit to secure the win.1 Dončić was instrumental in the comeback, scoring 20 of his 60 points in the final quarter.1
