Irish Tax Defaulters: Air Force H&V Ltd. Tops €11.5 Million List
A wave of tax settlements totaling over €11.5 million has been levied against businesses and individuals in Ireland, with Air Force H&V Ltd., an air conditioning manufacturer and installer, leading the list of defaulters with a bill exceeding €2.2 million.
Air Force H&V Ltd.’s Substantial Debt
Air Force H&V Ltd., based at Broomhill Close in Tallaght, Dublin, owes a total of €2,249,605 to the Irish tax authority, Revenue. An audit revealed the company under-declared PAYE, PRSI, USC, and VAT by €1,340,032. Interest charges of €333,472 and penalties amounting to €576,101 brought the total due to over €2.2 million, with €1,828,688 remaining unpaid. The company entered liquidation last year.
Other Significant Settlements
Pro-Light Design and Technology Limited, a Dublin-based lighting design consultancy, faced the second-largest settlement, exceeding €1.1 million. The firm was penalized for under-declaring €698,279 in corporation tax and VAT, resulting in a total owed of €1,125,517, with €1,103,007 still outstanding.
Bartle Masterson, operating Millbrook Motors in Oldcastle, County Meath, settled for €538,964 after an audit uncovered under-declared income tax totaling €293,196.
Diverse Range of Defaulters
The list of defaulters extended beyond businesses to include individuals. A former undertaker, Anthony McMahon, under-declared €122,271 in income tax and now owes €272,594, with €269,594 remaining unpaid.
Other settlements included those made by an e-scooter entrepreneur and a cryptocurrency investor. Desmond O’Keefe, a cryptocurrency investor, settled for €155,030 for the under-declaration of capital gains tax. Runo Dortie, an e-scooter entrepreneur, made a settlement for almost €130,000.
Revenue’s Compliance Interventions
Revenue noted that the published settlements represent only a portion of its compliance interventions. In the three-month period ending December 31, 2025, a total of 18,689 compliance interventions were settled, yielding €301,135,215.
