EastEnders Christmas Spoilers: Shane Richie Teases ‘Tragic and Sad’ Festive Episodes
Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster this Christmas in Walford! EastEnders star Shane Richie has dropped hints that this year’s festive episodes will be anything but cheerful, promising “Deceit, tragic and sad” scenes.
Alfie and Kat in the Heart of the Drama
Richie, who plays the beloved Alfie Moon, revealed to Radio Times that both Alfie and Kat Slater will be heavily involved in the drama unfolding on Christmas Day.
“A few things happened on Christmas, which I intentionally didn’t read [the script] because I knew that Kat and Alfie were going to be involved, and I didn’t really want to know what was going to happen in the Queen Vic on Christmas Day,” he explained.
“But oh my God! I sat there watching this story unfolding in the Queen Vic that happens on Christmas Day, and as a fan of the show anyway, I was like, ‘Oh my God I can’t believe this! Stop!'”
He continued, “I had to do a line, and I kept messing it up because I was so taken in with the storyline that was happening. You’re in for a lovely treat this Christmas Day.”
The Ongoing Tommy Storyline
The Christmas Day drama likely ties into the ongoing storyline involving Kat and Alfie’s son, Tommy, who has been grappling with violent outbursts, physically harming several family members.
Recent episodes have seen Tommy lash out at Kat, Bert, and Ernie, culminating in Jean Slater calling social services. Will the Christmas Day scenes explore the ramifications of Tommy’s actions and the family’s struggle to cope?
