The Vatican Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed “new lines of investigation” in the case of the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi.
As confirmed Alessandro DidiVatican Promoter of Justice, “In recent months, all the evidence available in the structures of the Vatican and the Holy See has been collected. This, after carrying out the examination of the material, has confirmed some lines of investigation worthy of being deepened”.
In addition, it has indicated that the pertinent documentation has been transmitted to the Rome Prosecutor’s Office “so that it can examine it and proceed in the direction it deems most appropriate.”
The Vatican decided to reopen the investigation into the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, the 15-year-old daughter of a Vatican employee, months after a new documentary by Netflix intended to shed new light on the case and weeks after his family asked the Italian Parliament to take over the case.
Diddi reopened the proceedings to clarify the mysterious circumstances of the disappearance produced in 1983 to meet “the requests made by the family in various places,” according to what the Italian media reported at the time.
