President Recep tayyip Erdoğan welcomed the A National Men’s Basketball Team, who earned a silver medal at the 2025 European Basketball Championship (Eurobasket 2025).
Our National Basketball Team Finished Second in Europe
During Eurobasket 2025, the team defeated Sweden in the round of 16, Poland in the quarterfinals, and Greece in the semifinals. Turkey ultimately faced Germany in the championship match.
Playing at Arena Riga, the national team lost the hard-fought championship game 88-83, securing a silver medal.
A second Silver Medal
this marks the second silver medal for the A National Basketball Team in the European Championship.
The team hadn’t reached the championship final in 24 years.
The moon-star team lost to Yugoslavia 78-69 in the Eurobasket 2001 final, which was played at the Abdi İpekçi Sports Hall.
