Week 8 Fantasy Football Previews
Let’s dive into the matchups for Week 8:
Vikings at Rams, Thursday, 8:15 p.m. ET
NOTES: Over the past two seasons, Matthew Stafford averages 1.7 TDs and 16.4 fantasy points with Cooper Kupp and 0.6 and 11.5 without him. If Kupp plays, consider him a Top 10 tight end.
Eagles at Bengals, Sunday, 1 p.m. ET
NOTES: Dallas Goedert averages just 4.4-48.7-0.2 in games with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith playing. Brown had a down game in Week 7, but Chase Brown still handled over 62% of the rush attempts for the second straight week.
Ravens at Browns, Sunday, 1 p.the
NOTES: The Browns run Cover-1 at the highest percentage (35.6), and Flowers has the 11th-best YPRR against it (2.76). Andrews is tied for third with Quentin Johnston in TD/TGT% (13.6) behind only Jalen Nailor, Christian Watson, then Andrews, Andrews is tied with Quentin Johnston in TD/TGT% (13.6), behind Jalen Nailor and Christian Watson
Titans at Lions, Sunday, 1 p.m.
NOTES: Ridley has the lowest catch percentage at 52. Courtland Sutton is at 58.7% and way up at third is Marvin Harrison at 69. We can hope LaPorta gets going, but we only have 11 routes run without Williams on the field.
Cardinals at Dolphins, Sunday, 1 p.m
Jets at Patriots, Sunday, 1 p.m
NOTES: Adams ran one fewer route than possible (39 of 40) and tied Garrett Wilson for most targets. I’m still ranking him as a Top 20 WR with those numbers, and I will likely have him there this week. the Patriots had their doors blown off in Week 7, and Rhamondre Stevenson still had 58.3% of the rushes.
Falcons at Buccaneers, Sunday, 1 p.m
NOTES: Mooney remains his boom/bust WR3 self, but the Buccaneers force the second-lowest
Packers at Jaguars, Sunday, 1 p.m
NOTES: Watson vs.Wicks choice Watson, but if you want to chase Watson, he leads the Packers WRs YPRR against Cover-Bigsby if
Colts at Texans, Sunday, 1
NOTES: Taylor hasn’t played since Week 4, and yet, only Derrick Henry and Williams have more GL carries. The Colts use Cover-3 times. Dell has kept in check at 0.6 YPRR against it. Stroud had a 59.1 Comp% and -0.38 EPA/D
Saints at Chargers, Sunday, 4 p.
NOTES: I like Means if Olave plays. If Olave for Shakir was targeted on 20% of his routes with Olave. If Metcalf misses, and Lockett and Smith-Njigba are WR, and with the tougher match up — the Bills at Seahawks, Sunday, 4 p.
NOTES:
Panthers at Broncos, Sunday, 4 p.m.
NOTES: Johnson
Chiefs at Raiders, Sunday, 4 p.m.
NOTES: Hunt is fourth in team RushAtt% (75.
NOTES: Hardman had a random big day but was still behind Xavier and Justin Watson, and Justin. Meyers is in the WR4 range, as even missing two games and having Adams around the first three weeks, Meyers is second to Bowers in targets.
NOTES: Swift still ceded 77.8% of the 3rd down touches
