Villanova Downs Georgetown 76-68
WASHINGTON D.C. – Villanova defeated Georgetown 76-68 on Wednesday evening at Capital One Arena.
The Wildcats were led by justin moore, who scored 22 points. Eric Dixon added 18 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Mark Armstrong contributed 13 points, and Hakim Hart finished with 11.
Georgetown’s Supreme Jones led all scorers with 24 points.Rowan Brumbaugh added 14 points for the Hoyas.
Villanova started the game strong, building a 15-point lead in the frist half. Georgetown fought back, cutting the deficit to six at halftime, 38-32.
The second half saw a back-and-forth battle. Georgetown managed to tie the game at 58-58 with just over 10 minutes remaining. However, Villanova responded with a 12-2 run to regain control.The Wildcats maintained their lead for the remainder of the game, securing the 76-68 victory.
Villanova shot 48.3% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range. Georgetown shot 42.9% from the field and 30.8% from beyond the arc.
Villanova (2-0) will next play Saint Joseph’s on October 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Georgetown (0-2) will look to bounce back in their next contest.
