Filmmaker Transforms Brittany Home into Cinematic Set for Dystopian Film
Plouër-sur-Rance, France – Director Chris Briant has turned a stone house in the hamlet of Bouillon, near Dinan in Brittany, into a fully-equipped film set for his upcoming independent film, Entre frères et sœurs humains (Between Human Brothers and Sisters). Filming took place from Thursday, February 19th to Saturday, February 21st, 2026.
A Return to Artisanal Filmmaking
Briant, originally from Lorraine, sought a location that would allow him to embrace a more hands-on, artisanal approach to filmmaking. The house in Plouër-sur-Rance provided the perfect backdrop for his dystopian vision. According to producer Pascal Wyn, the production involved a team of around thirty technicians managing various aspects of the shoot, including accessories, image, and sound Ouest-France.
Filming Entre frères et sœurs humains
The film, which Briant wrote over a year, is a dystopian story being filmed entirely within the director’s home and surrounding gardens Le Télégramme. The production required bringing in a significant amount of equipment, including cameras, sound equipment, and a lift, transforming the quiet hamlet into a bustling film studio Ouest-France.
Local Impact and Production Details
The filming process involved temporarily converting gardens and homes in the Bouillon hamlet into studio spaces. Briant, a resident of Plouër-sur-Rance, began shooting the trailer for the film in late February 2026 Ouest-France. The director has been described as having “a bit of a MacGyver spirit” due to his resourceful approach to transforming his home into a functional film set Le Télégramme.
