Google Announces AI Hub and $15 billion Investment in India
New Delhi: Google CEO Sundar Pichai said he spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared GoogleS plans for its first AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Google announced a large data center and artificial intelligence base in Visakhapatnam, its biggest AI hub outside the United States. The company will invest $15 billion in India over the next five years.
Pichai called it a “landmark advancement,” explaining the hub will include significant computing power, a new undersea data cable connection, and large-scale energy infrastructure.
“Through this,we will bring our leading technology to businesses and users in india,speeding up AI innovation and growth across the country,” Pichai posted on X after an agreement was signed between Google and the Andhra Pradesh government.
