Mowafi said during his program broadcast on Sada El Balad channel, that diabetes is one of the diseases that negatively affects heart health.

The professor of critical care medicine added that diabetes is one of the factors that increases the risk of coronary artery stenosis.

He explained that coronary artery stenosis can be detected by a diabetic patient through some symptoms, such as chest pain and palpitations.

He pointed out that there is a dangerous type of coronary artery stenosis that may occur in a diabetic patient, which is painless coronary circulation failure.

Therefore, diabetics are recommended to have their heart checked periodically, to ensure its health, and to ensure that there is no narrowing of the coronary artery.

He revealed that a diabetic patient becomes more susceptible to coronary artery stenosis if he belongs to a notorious family, according to his description.

Mowafi stated that a notorious family means “a family with a previous history of heart disease, including coronary artery stenosis.”
