Through his Twitter account, Cosío urged young people to march in memory of Carlos Manzo, mayor of uruapan murdered on November 1, and to demonstrate against the federal government’s security strategy. “We must march on november 15. Pay attention to attend in memory and in protest of the crime of Carlos Manzo and in repudiation of the questionable policy against violence of the federal government,” wrote the actor on november 3rd.

Actor tenoch Huerta Declines Mayoral Run, Remains Critical of Politicians
Tenoch Huerta, known for his roles in films like “The Dead Sea” (2010) and his portrayal of Namor in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” has reaffirmed his commitment to acting and distanced himself from a potential career in politics. He has been recognized for taking on challenging roles and has received multiple nominations for the Ariel Award, Mexico’s national film award, for his work in “El Infierno” (2011), “Pastorela” (2012), and “La thin yellow line” (2016).
In 2024, the National Action Party (PAN) approached Huerta with an offer to run for mayor of Ciudad Juárez. However, he declined, expressing a deep skepticism towards politicians. “Politicians are the worst actors in the world,” Huerta stated in an interview with El Universal https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/espectaculos/cine/tenoch-huerta-rechaza-ser-candidato-a-la-alcaldia-de-ciudad-juarez.
While Huerta has been critical of various governments, he acknowledges some positive developments, such as increases to the minimum wage and support programs for the elderly. However, he believes these measures are insufficient to address Mexico’s most pressing issues, namely corruption and insecurity.
Despite his political disagreements, Huerta maintains personal relationships with individuals holding differing viewpoints. he specifically cited his friendship with Damián Alcázar, a supporter of the current governance (often referred to as the “4T” – Fourth Transformation) https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/espectaculos/cine/tenoch-huerta-rechaza-ser-candidato-a-la-alcaldia-de-ciudad-juarez.
