K-Pop Tribute Show Sparks Debate Over Quality and Appropriateness

A K-Pop tribute concert at the SSE Arena in Belfast has ignited a debate after attendees voiced concerns over the show’s quality and whether certain performances were suitable for children. The “KPop Forever! Tribute” show, which began on Thursday, February 19, 2026, and has subsequent dates scheduled, has drawn both praise and criticism, prompting a defense from both Aiken Promotions and the SSE Arena.

Complaints Emerge from Attendees

Parents attending the concert with young children expressed disappointment, with some describing portions of the show as “raunchy” and “inappropriate.” Caroline McGrath, who attended with her seven-year-old daughter, noted that whereas they enjoyed parts of the performance, it differed from her expectations. Despite the controversy, the show has proven popular in some areas. All seven performances across six dates in Cork, from February 24 to May 14, have sold out. Source Additional performances are scheduled for next Monday and May 16 at the SSE Arena in Belfast. Source

Genre Expectations and Audience Understanding
