Princess Kate delivers first speech in two years at UK Future Workforce Summit
Princess Kate delivered her first public speech since sharing earlier this year that she was cancer-free.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, Kate, 43, delivered her first major address in two years at the UK Future Workforce summit, speaking in London about the importance of weaving “dignity” and “tenderness” into business practices for the purpose of “a happier, healthier society.”
“A loving home ultimately teaches us how to love and how to care, but every habitat has the potential to shape our hearts,” Kate said. “Every one of you interacts with your own environment: a home, a family, a business, a workforce, a community. These are the ecosystems that you yourselves help to weave. Imagine a world where each of these environments were built on valuing time and tenderness just as much as productivity and success.”
“As business leaders, you will face the daily challenge of finding the balance between profitability and having a positive impact,” she continued. “But the two are not, and should not be, incompatible.”
The speech marks a crescendo in Kate’s gradual return to public life following a 2024 announcement that the royal had been battling cancer and was undergoing “a course of preventive chemotherapy treatment.”
