Béatrice Latouche Outlines Priorities for Le Lude’s Future
Béatrice Latouche, the mayor of Le Lude since October 2017 and of the new commune since January 2018, has announced key priorities for her upcoming campaign, aiming to shape the future of the community. These priorities encompass healthcare, economic development, security, and youth initiatives.
Healthcare Enhancements
A significant focus for Latouche is improving healthcare access within Le Lude. Plans are underway to start construction of a multidisciplinary healthcare center by the end of 2026. This center will aim to attract a range of healthcare professionals to the area. Recent additions include a general practitioner who established a practice last year and a dentist who joined in January. Negotiations are currently in progress to welcome two additional general practitioners and two dentists, including a stomatologist.
Economic Development and Housing
Latouche’s economic strategy centers on revitalizing key areas within the commune. Discussions are ongoing regarding the Candia wasteland site, with the goal of establishing a significant business presence there. Three buildings have already been completed, and companies like The Acoustics company are experiencing growth. Recognizing the need for increased housing options, plans include developing housing estates in Dissé and on the Route de Tours, with a specific focus on accessible housing for individuals with reduced mobility and the elderly. This Route de Tours project is being led by Sarthe Habitat.
Strengthening Security
Security is another key priority for Latouche’s administration. She emphasizes that security extends beyond video surveillance, which is already in place, to encompass the safety of both property and residents. The commune has developed an information document addressing major risks, including fire safety.
Investing in Youth
Latouche is committed to enhancing opportunities for young people in Le Lude. A major project is the construction of a new school restaurant to accommodate the 150 to 200 schoolchildren who currently utilize space in the Ronsard building. Plans are in place to reorganize and digitally modernize the local media library.
Béatrice Latouche’s vision for Le Lude focuses on building a dynamic and inclusive community through strategic investments in essential services and infrastructure.
