Mullagh Cross
Meath County Council is inviting submissions and observations from the public in relation to a proposed development at the junction of the R156 and R125 at Mullagh Cross in the townlands of kilmore and Mullagh, Kilcock.
The proposed development would include realignment of approximately 210m of the R125 northeast of the Mullagh Cross junction and of approximately 300m of the R156 east of the Mullagh Cross junction through a greenfield site. Road safety improvements are planned along the R156 within the Meath County council boundary. According to a notice published on August 26th, 2025, Meath County council has steadfast that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required for the proposed development, concluding there is no real likelihood of important environmental effects.
However, the Council notes that applications can be made to An Coimisiún Pleanála (The Planning Commission) for a screening determination to assess whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
