Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya: Marcos Family Brings Christmas Cheer to 30,000 Children

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Marie Louise Araneta-Marcos spread the Christmas spirit to over 30,000 children across the Philippines on Sunday with their annual gift-giving event, “Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya Year 3.” The joyous occasion took place at Malacañang Palace and was spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

A Celebration of Christmas Joy

The event saw 2,199 children attend in person at the Palace, while another 27,899 joined via livestream from various locations around Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao. Each child received a gift set filled with goodies like a trolley bag, raincoat, and tumbler, ensuring a memorable and heartwarming Christmas for families nationwide.

President Marcos Inspires Festive Spirit

President Marcos himself engaged with the children through fun games and entertainment activities, creating a joyful and interactive atmosphere. In his address, he emphasized the importance of celebrating Christmas even amidst the nation’s challenges, stating, “Every Christmas, we hold an open house because that has been the Marcos family’s tradition. When I was young and we lived here, we always prepared something for the little ones we cared for, and that’s why we are here again.”

He also expressed his gratitude to the DSWD for their hard work in spreading holiday cheer to those in need, adding, “Christmas is for the children, so we make sure that everyone, no matter how far they come from, can celebrate Christmas with their families and loved ones.”
