Penguins Sign Promising Prospects Zonnon and D’Aigle to Entry-Level Contracts
The Pittsburgh Penguins have secured the futures of two young talents, signing forward Bill Zonnon and goaltender Gabriel D’Aigle to three-year, entry-level contracts on Sunday, March 22, 2026.1 Both players, 19 years old and hailing from Quebec, were drafted by the Penguins in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
Bill Zonnon: A Rising Offensive Star
Zonnon, a right wing who shoots left, was originally drafted 22nd overall by Pittsburgh in 2025.1 Prior to signing, he played for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) after a mid-season trade from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.1 He amassed an impressive 226 points (62 goals and 118 assists) in 195 career QMJHL games.1 In his final season with Rouyn-Noranda, Zonnon recorded 28 goals and 55 assists in 64 games, leading his team in playoff scoring with eight goals and eight assists in 13 games.1
Gabriel D’Aigle: A Goaltending Prospect with High Potential
D’Aigle joins the Penguins organization after a strong season with the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL.2 The 6-foot-4, 211-pound goaltender posted a 14-21-3 record in 39 games during the 2025-26 season, maintaining a .908 save percentage while facing a league-leading 37.1 shots per game.2 D’Aigle was selected by Pittsburgh in the third round (84th overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft.2 He has represented Team Canada on the international stage, winning a gold medal at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and a bronze medal at the 2023 World Under-18 Championship.2
What This Means for the Penguins
These signings demonstrate the Penguins’ commitment to building a competitive roster through both veteran acquisitions and developing young talent.2 Both Zonnon and D’Aigle will likely begin their professional careers in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, where they will have the opportunity to further develop their skills and adapt to the professional game.
