Detroit Pistons Extend Winning Streak to Six, Defeat Orlando Magic 106-92
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Detroit Pistons continued their impressive run, securing their sixth consecutive road victory with a 106-92 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night. The Pistons, currently the NBA leaders, improved to 45-14, winning their eighth game in nine attempts and boasting a 21-7 record away from home.
Cunningham and Harris Lead the Way
Cade Cunningham spearheaded the Pistons’ offense with 29 points and 11 assists, while Tobias Harris contributed 23 points. Jalen Duren added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Detroit.
Magic Struggle in Second Half
Despite a strong performance from Paolo Banchero, who led Orlando with 24 points and 11 rebounds, the Magic faltered in the second half, shooting just 30.7% from the field. Banchero likewise committed nine turnovers. Tristan da Silva added 19 points, and Desmond Bane scored 17, but Orlando couldn’t overcome their shooting woes and a third-quarter collapse – a familiar scenario, having previously squandered a 19-point lead against Houston on Friday night.
Pistons Overcome Unhurried Start
The Pistons faced early adversity, missing their first 15 three-point attempts and trailing 57-50 at halftime. Even though, they rallied in the third quarter, sparked by a three-pointer from Harris, and went on an 11-0 run to take control of the game.
Injury and Suspension Updates
Detroit forward Isaiah Stewart served the final game of a seven-game suspension stemming from an altercation at Charlotte on February 9. Orlando guard Anthony Black missed the game due to a strained right quad, marking his first absence of the season.
Looking Ahead
The Pistons will continue their road trip with a matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night. The Magic will return home to host the Washington Wizards on the same night.
