Porsche Carrera GT Receives Stunning Salzburg Livery
Mobilinanews (Germany) – porsche, via Porsche Sonderwunsch Manufaktur, has completed an aspiring project uniting two legends from different eras.
Victor Gómez, a porsche enthusiast from Puerto Rico and head of a major automotive company, entrusted his 20-year-old Porsche Carrera GT to undergo a total restoration and a personal visual transformation.
The result is a car that not only returns to new condition but also embodies the spirit of Porsche’s racing glory.
The project’s main inspiration is the legendary Salzburg design, a striking red-and-white livery that established Porsche as a dominant force in world endurance racing.
The design directly honors the short-tail Porsche 917 hull number 23, driven by hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood to Porsche’s first overall victory at Le Mans in 1970.

Interestingly, the winning car was originally prepared by the Porsche dealer Alpenstraße in Salzburg, Austria, the origin of the iconic design’s name.
Adapting this design to the Carrera GT proved challenging for the Porsche design team,as the geometry, dimensions, and body gaps of the Carrera GT differ considerably from the 1970s 917 prototype.
Thus, Grant Larson and his team made in-depth adjustments, using a technique of manually applying tape to the car body to determine the dynamic line flow before creating a precise paint scheme.
