The fatal collision happened at the Bagmara Dudh Bazar bypass on the busy intercity line.

Police said Uddin was probably hit by a train heading from Noakhali to Dhaka that went through the station at about 7.30am.

Police believe the accident happened because of carelessness as they prepare to hand over the body to his family once legal procedures and autopsy are complete.

The tragedy comes amid a string of shocking selfie-related accidents caught on camera.

In Taiwan, a tourist was mowed down while attempting to snap a photo beside a moving train.

Footage showed 55-year-old Liu Nu standing with her back to the oncoming locomotive as it blasted its horn.

She was struck on the shoulder and knocked to the ground.

Onlookers screamed in horror as the train ground to an emergency stop, delaying dozens of passengers.

Liu survived with a broken foot, according to reports, and the travel agency involved was fined and barred from the track area for a year.

Meanwhile in Sri Lanka, another tourist tumbled from a moving train after leaning out of a carriage to take a picture.

Horrifying footage showed her being bashed in the head by tree branches before she was ripped from the train.

She was later found not to be seriously injured.

And in China’s Xinjiang region, a skier was brutally mauled by a snow leopard after taking a smiling selfie with the wild animal moments before it pounced.

The tourist spotted the dangerous predator while skiing off-piste and rushed over to get a cute snap with the wild beast.

Authorities had issued repeated warnings about predator activity in the area.
