Ray D’Arcy Launches Daily Podcast Following RTÉ Departure
Former RTÉ Radio 1 broadcaster Ray D’Arcy is returning to daily broadcasting with the launch of a new podcast, Ray D’Arcy Daily, beginning Monday, March 9th. This marks D’Arcy’s first major venture since leaving RTÉ in October 2025 after 11 years with the station.
Departure from RTÉ and New Beginnings
D’Arcy’s departure from RTÉ Radio 1 was announced in October 2025, with his final show airing on Wednesday, October 9th The Irish Times. He expressed his disappointment with RTÉ management regarding the handling of his exit The Irish Times, stating, “I am hugely disappointed with RTÉ management and how my departure from Radio 1 has been handled.”
What to Expect from Ray D’Arcy Daily
The podcast will be released Monday to Friday and will be available on standard podcast streaming platforms The Irish Times. D’Arcy’s wife, fellow podcaster Jenny Kelly, shared the news on Instagram, describing the show as “nothing new, and yet all new,” featuring D’Arcy’s perspective and contributions from friends of the show The Irish Times.
Guests scheduled to appear on the podcast include Kelly, Mairead Ronan, and Bernard O’Shea The Irish Times.
A Broadcasting Career
Ray D’Arcy began his broadcasting career on RTÉ television in the 1990s, hosting shows like Jo Maxi, The Den, Blackboard Jungle, and 2Phat The Irish Times. He later moved to Today FM before rejoining RTÉ in 2015 The Irish Times.
