Rostselmash to Train Next Generation of Agricultural Specialists

Russian agricultural machinery manufacturer Rostselmash is investing in the future of the industry by training 1,740 young people in key agricultural roles by 2028. The initiative focuses on students within the Mechanical Engineering cluster, with 690 specialists slated to begin training in September of this year.

A Collaborative Educational Model

The training program utilizes a “School – College – Employer” model, which has received high marks from independent experts. Rostselmash partnered on this educational project in May of last year, committing to provide a supportive environment for aspiring professionals. This includes covering internship costs, providing operate attire, offering discounted meals and awarding personalized scholarships.

Early Exposure to Agricultural Careers

A key component of Rostselmash’s strategy is early employment exposure. Teenagers begin familiarizing themselves with production processes at age 14, and by 16, students are making informed career choices based on hands-on experience gained during school holidays. This approach aims to mitigate the loss of potential personnel from the agricultural sector before they complete their education.

Integrated Learning and Mentorship

The program emphasizes “finish-to-end interaction” across all stages of preparation. Students can experience a full day encompassing classroom learning, workshop visits, and meetings with designers and engineers. Each student is paired with a mentor to ensure the program aligns with real-world production tasks. To further support the program, Rostselmash has implemented a material support system for teaching staff.
