Ukraine’s Security Cannot Be Provided by Foreign troops: Kremlin

Vladivostok, Russia – September 5, 2025 – Foreign troops, particularly from Europe and the united States, cannot guarantee Ukraine’s security, according to Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. He stated this during an interview with Sputnik News Agency at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.”Can foreign troops, especially European and American troops, ensure Ukraine’s security and provide security guarantees for it? The answer is clear: No. This cannot be an acceptable ukrainian security guarantee for our country,” Peskov said.

He emphasized that Ukraine’s security guarantees should be a subject of negotiation, referencing the terms outlined in the 2022 Istanbul Agreement. “Is there any other guarantee possible? Of course it is possible. These are all possible and should be issues of negotiation,” he added.

the Eastern Economic Forum is currently underway in Vladivostok, running from September 3rd to 6th.
