Samsung at IFA 2025: AI at the Heart of the Connected Home
A week ago, I went to Berlin with Samsung to get to no the new products – the Galaxy S25 Fe smartphone, the Galaxy Tab S1 S11 tablets, and learn more about Samsung’s smart home technology.
These activities were carried out by Samsung during the IFA 2025 technology exhibition in berlin. as in other years, this year’s Messe Berlin Exhibition Complex had rented the big CityCube Berlin building and from the outside, it is clear that this year’s main theme is artificial intelligence at home. But what does it mean in practice at all?
To find out this, I visited the Samsung presentation on the first day of the IFA 2025 exhibition. In it, representatives of the company talked about specific examples of how this brand’s mobile devices and home appliances work together to make life easier for thier users.
As we know, Samsung produces many different devices. In our pockets we have Samsung smartphones, on hand Samsung smart watches or smart ring, but we use Samsung refrigerators at home, washing machines, vacuum cleaners robots and TVs. These devices in themselves perform the functions they are entrusted with, have built-in artificial intelligence systems in different levels and all intertwine together in the SmartThings app. Samsung points out that there are more than 200 million devices in the world with Galaxy AI and samsung wants to double this number by the end of the year. If in the past we have fully managed all our devices, then there is a transition to the era, when the devices understand what and at what point we need and adapt to our everyday life.
Makes our lives easier
Samsung’s benefits of its devices and technology are divided into four large categories – Simplicity, Saving, Care, Safety. These are all aspects that are important to us every day and thru them the company tries to show our product and service to the right.
Ok, with mobile devices we have more or less clear, but at home we also have different types of home appliances. Not only can a robotic vacuum cleaner be able to automatically clean the home, but we can remotely connect and use it as a safety camera. Go to the home corner of interest and see what’s going on there. Or through the robot to “talk” with our pet. The cameras also begin to be built into oven and we can connect from our TV to the oven to look at the cooking progress. In the fridge, the built-in cameras recognize the products we place and record both the products and their expiration times. And
Caring for family and pets
when we return home after a long day of work, Samsung wearable devices (smart watch or smart ring) recognize when we are asleep. This facts can be used by the SmartThings app to automatically close the blinds, turn off the lights, and even silence household appliances to avoid disturbing our sleep.
Samsung devices can not only turn off when no one is around – saving us money – but also turn on when they detect a specific sound, such as a dog barking. We can even program the TV to automatically play a favorite video for our dog.
