Search for Missing 5-Year-Old Sharon Continues in Alice Springs

Police in Alice Springs are continuing their search for a missing five-year-old girl, Sharon, who was reported missing from her home in the Old Timers Aboriginal town camp on Marshall Court early Sunday morning.

According to Northern Territory Police, Sharon was last seen by her parents when she was tucked into bed around 11pm on Saturday night, April 25, 2026. She was reported missing at approximately 1:30am on Sunday, April 26, 2026, after she could not be located at her residence.

Sharon was last seen wearing a dark blue short-sleeve T-shirt with a white ring stripe around the neck and white ring stripe around the finish of the sleeves, along with a pair of black boxer-style underwear.

Police have conducted extensive searches of the area, including foot patrols and initial area searches, but have been unable to locate Sharon. Acting Commander Grieve stated that police do not believe a 47-year-old man, who was in and around the area at the time, was directly related to Sharon but may have had a very peripheral link to her family.

The man, who was reported missing around the same time as Sharon, is the only person police have been unable to locate and speak to who was in and around the area when Sharon disappeared. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 131 444 and quote reference number P26120934.

As of Monday morning, April 27, 2026, police have resumed foot searches at first light after being unable to locate Sharon overnight. The investigation remains ongoing, with police emphasizing that they are not ruling out any possibilities while expressing concern for Sharon’s welfare due to her young age and the time elapsed since her disappearance.

Community members are being asked to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that could assist in locating Sharon. Police continue to appeal for public assistance in the search efforts.
