five Dead in Tromsø Car Crash
“There were a total of six people involved in the accident, where five were confirmed dead,” said operations manager Rune Nilsen in the Troms police district.
The relatives have been notified.
All five fatalities are residents of Tromsø Municipality.
One person was transported to the University Hospital Northern Norway with unknown extent of injuries.
Those involved were in two passenger cars, with three people in each vehicle.
“We were notified of a very serious accident just before midnight. Two passenger cars are involved, and there are major material damages to the cars,” says interim leader Vegard Nilssen in Troms police district to NRK.

The accident occured in an 80 km/h zone on the E8 at Hundbergan,approximately 16 km outside Tromsø.
“We believe it can be a head-on collision,” Nilssen added.
