The fires that are active in Galicia have devastated more than 230 hectares of forest in the Lugo region of The Navybetween the municipalities of Trabada, Ribadeo and Foz, while in the province of Ourensethe Lobeira and Vilariño de Conso fires have burned over 240 hectares.
According to the information provided this Friday by the Department of Rural Affairs, the Trabada fire, which also affects Ribadeo and in which alert level 2 had to be decreed, has burned 160 hectares and has forced the Cantabrian highway to be cut – A-8- between kilometers 508 and 524.
Five technicians, fourteen agents, twenty-five brigades, twenty-three motor pumps and 3 excavators, among other ground means, in addition to six planes and three helicopters, are working to extinguish it.
In Foz, in the parishes of Santo Acisclo and Santa Cilla, four forest fires, very close to each other, have burned about 70 hectares. 5 agents, 6 brigades, 9 motor pumps and an excavator are working to put it down.
In Chantada, in Requeixo, another active fire has burned 80 hectares. Two technicians, six agents, 14 brigades, 7 motor pumps and 2 excavators work on its extinction.
