Brendan Shinnimin Acquitted After Players’ Corridor Altercation

Luleå Hockey player Brendan Shinnimin has been acquitted by the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation’s Disciplinary Committee following an incident with Skellefteå assistant coach Andreas Falk after a SHL match on Saturday, March 1st, 2026.

The Incident

The altercation occurred in the players’ corridor between the first and second periods of the game between Luleå and Skellefteå. According to reports, Falk initiated contact by bumping into Shinnimin and making a comment about a previous play. This led to a physical confrontation, with Shinnimin striking Falk in the chest before a security guard intervened Sweden Herald.

Disciplinary Committee Decision

Both Shinnimin and Falk were reported to the disciplinary committee. But, the committee ruled in favor of Shinnimin, stating that his actions were a response to a clear provocation by Falk SHL.se.
