Stan Wawrinka (ATP 152) appears in the last square of the Challenger 125 of Cancun. The Vaudois dominated the Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo (ATP 86) 6-4 6-3 in the quarterfinals to confirm his renewed form.
The ex-3 world has therefore not let go of the slightest set on the hard courts of the Mexican seaside resort. And he has never lost more than four games in the same set, he who won 6-3 6-4 in each of his first two games.
Wawrinka nevertheless conceded the entrance station wagon to find himself led 0-2 in the two heats against Cerundolo, recent finalist on the clay of Gstaad and seeded No4 of the painting. But his reaction was immediate each time.
Another Argentinian on his way
In the second set, the Vaudois “Quadra” even won five games in a row to fly to victory. He will face another Argentinian, Thiago Agustin Tirante (ATP 135), Saturday for his third semi-final of the year on the Challengers front.
