The country’s proud tactical vehicles (rantis), Pindad Maung MV1 and MV2 4×4 show off on the floor of the Indonesia International Motor Show 2026. Visitors can see firsthand the toughness of these “sons of the nation” rantis in Hall B, Booth B9, JIExpo Kemayoran, from 5-15 February 2026.

Prestige Image Motorcars, which is usually known for producing world-class supercars, is now showing its commitment to local products. CEO of Prestige Image Motorcars, Rudy Salim, said Maung’s presence at their booth was a symbol of strategic collaboration.

“Our participation in IIMS 2026 reflects Prestige Motorcars’ long-term strategy to strengthen the national automotive ecosystem through cross-sector strategic partnerships,” said Rudy Salim.

Maung’s presence on the exhibition floor is also increasingly relevant considering President Prabowo Subianto’s direction. As is known, ministers and echelon I officials of the Red and White Cabinet have been instructed to use Maung as official official vehicles from the end of 2024.

“We welcome this policy as a strategic step to strengthen trust in domestic products while reducing dependence on imported vehicles,” added Rudy.

Member of the DPR RI and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI), Bambang Soesatyo, also expressed his appreciation for Prestige Image Motorcars’ strategic step in presenting domestically produced tactical vehicles, the Pindad Maung MV1 and MV2 4×4, at the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS).

“The participation of national tactical vehicles in international automotive exhibitions such as IIMS has strategic significance. Not only as a…
“a product promotion event, but also as a symbol of the national industry’s confidence to appear equally on the wider automotive stage,” said Bambang Soesatyo.

“The presence of the Maung MV1 and MV2 4×4 produced by Pindad is not only a symbol of pride in domestic manufacturing capabilities, but also reflects a concrete commitment to strengthening the foundations of the national automotive industry. The participation of these tactical vehicles in the automotive event
“prestigious shows that strategic tactical vehicle products resulting from national industrial development are able to appear competitive and gain equal space on the automotive industry stage,” he explained again.

Toughness of Maung MV1 and MV2

Behind their dashing appearance, both Pindad Maung MV1 and MV2 are equipped with a runway and technical capabilities that are no joke. Both carry a 4×4 drive configuration specifically designed to traverse extreme off-road terrain with a carrying capacity of four personnel.

Pindad Maung MV1 4×4 appears as a variant with more aggressive power. This Rantis is equipped with a diesel engine capable of producing maximum power of up to 184 HP and peak torque of 420 Nm. With a combat weight of up to 3 tons, the MV1 has a quite impressive power to weight ratio, namely more than 50 HP/Ton. This vehicle can be driven up to a safe speed of 120 km/hour with a cruising distance of up to 600 km on one refueling.

Meanwhile, the Pindad Maung MV2 4×4 comes with updates in terms of efficiency and range. Even though the engine power is slightly smaller at 160 HP at 3,200 rpm with 385 Nm of torque, the MV2 is a big winner when it comes to long-distance mobility. The cruising range has increased rapidly to 1,000 km, almost double that of its predecessor.

In terms of dimensions, both have a similar posture with a length of around 5.2 meters and a width of 2.1 meters. However, the MV2 is designed to be slightly lower at 1.86 meters compared to the MV1 which is 2 meters high.

When it comes to overcoming obstacles, both are equally tough: able to climb a slope of 60% (gradient), stable on a side slope of 30%, and able to crash through puddles or ditches as deep as 0.75 meters.

To support comfort and functionality in the field, this vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, air conditioning (AC) system, and emergency equipment such as an electric jack and spare tire.
