US President Trump has approved key points on how Tikkok can be operated in accordance with the leg in the USA. In the future, investors will operate a US version of the app.China’s head of state XI is said to have already agreed. But questions still remain unanswered.

The future of the app in the United States has been in the balance for months. After a law adopted last year, the US business would have had to be separated from ByteDance by January 19, 2025 – ByteDance has it’s headquarters in Beijing – or the app would have been banned in the USA. Though, Trump immediatly moved to block the implementation of the law upon taking office in January and has continued to extend the deadline.
According to the now planned solution,TikTok’s US business is to be brought into a new company. Approximately 80 percent of this new company would be owned by American investors, with ByteDance retaining the rest. That would correspond to the requirements of the law.
The White House has already identified software group Oracle and financial investor Silver lake as potential shareholders.
