Emergency services were called to Tuakau College, located on Buckland Road, at approximately 9:55 am following reports of a person being injured . According to Counties Manukau CIB Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers, a young person was quickly taken into custody upon arrival of police .
The victim, a teacher, was transported to Middlemore Hospital with minor injuries . Initial reports from St John Ambulance indicated one person was taken to the hospital in a serious condition , but police later clarified the injuries were minor.

School Response
Tuakau College initiated its lockdown procedures immediately following the incident. The lockdown was lifted around 11:30 am . The school board made the decision to close the school at 1 pm, citing an “unprecedented situation” .
