2026 Upper Deck Golf Set to Feature Rare Tiger Woods Rookie Card Buyback
Upper Deck is celebrating 25 years of its golf card line with a special 2026 release, highlighted by a unique buyback program featuring autographed rookie cards of Tiger Woods. The set, arriving in hobby shops on February 18, 2026, will also include new “Young Guns” cards spotlighting current golf stars.
Tiger Woods Rookie Card Buyback Program
As part of the 25th-anniversary celebration, Upper Deck acquired original 2001 Upper Deck Tiger Woods rookie cards from the secondary market. These cards have been authenticated, signed by Woods, hand-numbered to 25, and stamped with a commemorative 25th Anniversary logo [SI.com]. This isn’t a reprint, but rather original cards reinserted into 2026 packs, making them a highly sought-after chase item for collectors [Onmantel].
Expanding on the Nostalgia
Beyond the autographed rookie cards, Upper Deck also purchased 25 copies of the entire 2001 base set. These sets will be numbered to 25 and also feature the 25th Anniversary stamp [Onmantel]. The company will also manufacture 25 sets of the “Tiger’s Tales” inserts originally included in the 2001 set [SI.com].
New Generation of Stars: Young Guns
While honoring the past, Upper Deck is also focused on the future of golf. The 2026 set will feature “Young Guns” cards for rising stars like Nelly Korda, Hideki Matsuyama, Lydia Ko, Jackson Kuivun, and Miles Russell [SI.com]. These cards will include outburst parallels with gold 1-of-1 variations, adding another layer of excitement for collectors.
Set Details
The 2026 Upper Deck Golf set will include a 140-card Base Set, divided into five subsets: Vets/Legends, Season Highlights, Debut Dates, Young Guns, and Retrospective Young Guns [X]. The Retrospective Young Guns cards will feature golfers who previously hadn’t had a Young Guns card.
“This year’s Upper Deck Golf is a celebration of 25 years of premium golf products and our long-standing relationship with one of the greatest players ever to pick up a golf club,” said Paul Zickler, Upper Deck’s Director of Sports Brands [SI.com].
