DPR reinstates Uya Kuya as Active Member

The DPR’s Honorary Council (MKD) has decided to reinstate Surya Utama,better known as Uya Kuya, as an active member of the DPR from the PAN faction. He will continue his term of office through the 2024-2029 period.

The MKD held a trial on Wednesday (November 5th) regarding alleged ethical violations committed by Uya Kuya and four other temporarily inactive DPR members. Nazaruddin Dek Gam, Chairman of the MKD DPR, led the session, joined by four other leaders, and all five defendants were present.

“We declare that defendant 3,surya Utama,has not been proven to have violated the code of ethics,” stated MKD Deputy Chairman Adang Darajatun while reading the decision. “Therefore, defendant 3, Surya Utama, is reactivated as a member of the DPR, effective immediately.”
