UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, and Michael Ash, MD, CEO of nebraska Medicine, are sharing this important message regarding annual vaccination and tuberculosis (TB) symptom review.

As fall respiratory virus season approaches, it’s time to take action. As health care professionals, our patients and community rely on us to lead by example. getting vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 is one of the most effective ways to protect ourselves and those around us. Vaccination prevents the spread of illness and supports our mission to create a healthier future. It’s also a requirement for annual reporting to The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), demonstrating our commitment to Zero Harm.

Key Information

1. Vaccination Goals: We aim for at least 90% of Nebraska Medicine colleagues and UNMC faculty, staff, and students to receive the influenza vaccine this season, with 100% documenting their vaccination status.

2. On-Site vaccination Clinics: Drop-in clinics will be held from Thursday, October 9, through Monday, November 24. No appointment is needed. Simply bring your badge and complete the influenza questionnaire in the Health Tracking System.
