Following recent heavy rains that impacted Ciudad Juárez, the state goverment initiated a support program this past Saturday, providing assistance to the first 100 families most affected by the flooding. A central command post has been established at the Centauro Primary School in the northern part of the city to facilitate efficient logistics. Teams are actively canvassing impacted neighborhoods,beginning with areas like Plutarco Elías calles,to ensure aid reaches those who require it most. Looking ahead, a second phase of assistance is scheduled for the coming week. This next step will involve the State Housing Commission (COESVI) and will focus on evaluating and repairing homes that sustained structural damage during the storms. According to preliminary estimates, over 300 homes experienced some level of structural compromise, highlighting the scale of the challenge. This coordinated effort aims to provide not just immediate relief, but also long-term solutions for residents to rebuild their lives and homes.
