The effort, now in its fifth year, aims to combat food insecurity and provide vital sustenance to those in need, especially at a hospital in Milot, Haiti, in partnership with Holy Name.

The initiative is deeply meaningful for many involved, including volunteer Charles Debuque, who first visited Haiti in 1993. Debuque has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by the haitian people. “It’s hard to imagine how little they have,” Debuque said, but he also emphasized the resilience and joy of the community. “But the people are so beautiful. They are so happy.”
This positive spirit amplifies the impact of the food donations.”They are so grateful for any help and for whatever they get,” Debuque explained. “It just makes it so gratifying because you can’t help but want to help them.” The meals packed contain a balance of essential nutrients,as Debuque noted: “There’s plenty of carbs,there’s plenty of calories and plenty of nutrition.”

Cathy Davey, President of the Holy Name Foundation, highlighted the collaborative spirit driving the project. “It’s just unusual that we can definitely help them,” Davey said. “It’s truly a miracle. It’s such a blessing to have good people come together.”
