The actor Kamar de los Reyesknown for playing a gang member turned police officer in the soap opera One Life to Live already a villain in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops IIhas died in Los Angeles at the age of 56, as announced by his family.
De los Reyes died this Sunday after a brief battle against canceraccording to a statement from Lisa Goldberg, publicist for De los Reyes’ wife, Sherri Saum.
In One Life to Live, De los Reyes played Antonio Vega, a former gang member who became a lawyer and then a police officer, opposite Saum. While in the popular video game Call of Duty made ofThe villain Raúl Menéndez.
The family statement says that at the time of his death, De los Reyes was filming the series All American – and had recently worked on the upcoming Marvel series Daredevil and in the not yet released Hulu fiction Washington Blackstarring Sterling K. Brown.
Of the Kings was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Las Vegas. According to a biography provided by the family, he caught the acting bug when he arrived in Los Angeles in the late ’80s. His early roles included Pedro Quinn in the 1994 off-Broadway play, Blade to the Heatand that of Ferdinand in director George C. Wolfe’s production of The Tempest para Shakespeare in the Park.
