Surge in Temperatures Forces Suspension of Surgeries at Parini Hospital in Aosta

Aosta, Italy – Surgeries at the Parini Hospital in Aosta were suspended on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, due to a technical issue triggered by unusually warm weather. Full operations resumed Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with only emergency and urgent procedures maintained during the disruption, according to local health authorities.

Technical Issues Linked to Unseasonably Warm Weather

The Azienda USL (Local Health Authority) explained that the problem arose in the operating rooms due to a technical malfunction coinciding with a period of abnormally high temperatures for this time of year. The issue necessitated intervention and repairs, leading to the temporary suspension of scheduled surgeries. Aosta Oggi and RAI News reported the suspension and subsequent resumption of activities.

Temperature Records and Regional Impact

Temperatures in Aosta reached 22 degrees Celsius (approximately 72 degrees Fahrenheit) on February 24th and 25th, with the freezing level rising to 3,300 meters (over 10,800 feet) above sea level.
