Recently, on Wednesday, November 5th, Benton County and Bo’s Blessings co-hosted a food drive benefiting veterans and the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. According to Jannie Layne, founder and president of Bo’s Blessings, the drive successfully created 40 food bags, each containing enough food for two weeks.
Preserving Veteran Stories
Layne emphasized the importance of capturing and sharing the experiences of veterans. “So we have to raise up the next generation when they hear these stories of heroism. if we don’t continue to share them with the next generation, they’ll die. So we find it’s very vital to let them tell who can tell it better. There’s a legacy program at Washington, D.C. that captures those stories, but it’s our way to grow the next generation,” Layne stated. This event is seen as a vital part of that effort, providing a platform for veterans to share their experiences and inspire future generations.
