Fair Claims Settlement: Top Supplementary Insurance Providers in 2026
A recent study by ServiceValue, commissioned by Focus Money magazine, reveals that 15 providers of supplementary insurance are delivering “particularly good” claims settlement experiences to their customers as of March 2026. This assessment is based on an analysis of 61,782 customer opinions across 19 different insurance categories.
Study Methodology
ServiceValue has been examining the claims and benefits settlement practices of insurance companies from a customer perspective for nine years. The current edition, based on a survey conducted in November 2025, evaluated performance across 19 hedging areas. Participants were invited to evaluate their experiences with a claim or service claim filed within the past 36 months. The survey panel was designed to be demographically representative of the population.
Customers rated providers on a five-point scale, with 1 representing “excellent” and 5 representing “poor.” Companies achieving an above-average value received a “good” rating, while those exceeding the average of “good” companies were designated as “very good.”
It’s essential to note that the study only included companies meeting a minimum sample size, varying by insurance line. The research focused on a general assessment of regulatory practice and did not collect specific data on reaction speed, payout amounts, or the scope of regulation.
