Bill Maher Rips on Jay Leno Over Gambling Debt Theories Amid Brutal Injury From Falling Down Hill
Bill Maher took aim at Jay Leno’s recent injuries on his HBO show “Real Time,” questioning the outlandish theories circulating that the former late-night host’s woes were the result of gambling debts.
Leno, who suffered a serious injury after a dirt bike crash in California, had been spotted at a California lake gathering with friends, fueling speculation about his condition and possible involvement with the mob.
Maher, however, launched into a sarcastic critique, mocking the idea that the mob would resort to such tactics. “You think the mob wants to put a guy in a traction suit? Get some splints, get a concussion, maybe a souvenir ankle break?” he joked during the recent episode.
“They’re gonna send the guy down to Atlantic City on a folding chair to maybe collect the money there,” Maher added.
Leno, he implied, was simply an avid biker who enjoyed the thrills of the sport. “He’s a gearhead. He’s got these vintage cars, vintage motorcycles. This is a hobby. This is a guy who could probably cut himself a tire on a scooter just for the extra thrill, you know?” Maher quipped
