Former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Faces Life Imprisonment in Drug Case

Jakarta – Former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro is facing a potential life sentence after being named a suspect in a drug trafficking case. The case involves the discovery of a suitcase containing narcotics at the residence of Aipda Dianita in Tangerang, Banten. The developments were announced by the Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Details of the Charges and Potential Penalties

AKBP Didik is accused of violating Article 609 Paragraph (2) letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments, and Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning psychotropic substances, along with attachment 1 serial number 9 of Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment or a maximum sentence of 20 years, along with a fine of up to Rp 2 billion. He also faces a potential prison sentence of up to 5 years and a fine of up to Rp 200 million.

Investigation Reveals Drug Source

The investigation has revealed that the narcotics evidence originated from a drug dealer with the initials “E.” According to Irjen Isir, the drugs were obtained through AKP Malaungi, the former Head of the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit, who is also implicated in the case. “Based on the results of the examination so far, the evidence at AKBP Didik’s was obtained from the suspect AKP ML, this from one of the network figures with the initials E,” Isir stated.

Timeline of Involvement

Authorities believe AKBP Didik’s involvement in the drug trade dates back to August 2025, while he was still serving as the Bima City Police Chief. The dealer, identified only as “E,” had allegedly been supplying narcotics to Didik for several months.

Evidence Seized

The seized evidence includes:

  • Shabu weighing 16.3 grams
  • 49 Ecstasy pills and 2 leftover pills (23.5 grams)
  • Aprazolam (19 items)
  • Happy Five (2 items)
  • Ketamine (5 grams)

Ongoing Investigations and Ethical Review

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has formed a joint team with the West Nusa Tenggara Police to further investigate the case and uncover the full extent of the drug network. AKBP Didik will face an ethics trial scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Bureau of Professional Accountability at the National Police Professional and Security Division.

Urine and Hair Test Results

While initial urine tests for AKBP Didik, his wife, and a policewoman were negative, a subsequent hair test conducted by Propam came back positive. Further investigation is ongoing regarding other individuals involved.

As of February 15, 2026, AKBP Didik has not been detained, as he is undergoing the ethics process.
