Chainsaw Man Manga Concludes After Eight-Year Run
The critically acclaimed manga series Chainsaw Man has officially ended with the release of its final chapter in Part 2 on March 25 via the Shonen Jump+ app, bringing an eight-year journey to a close. The conclusion follows the completion of Part 1 in December 2020 and the launch of Part 2 in July 2022.
No Plans for Part 3, Final Volume Release Date
Despite fervent hopes among fans for a continuation in a potential Part 3, the final page of Part 2 delivered a conclusive message: “The End. Thank you for reading! Please look forward to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s next work!!” No sequel has been announced at this time. The final volume, Volume 24, is scheduled for release on June 4.
A Look at the World of Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man centers on Denji, a young man burdened by his parents’ debt who forms a contract with the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita. This pact revives Denji as Chainsaw Man, a dark hero with a devil’s heart, tasked with hunting other devils.
Widespread Popularity and Franchise Expansion
Debuting in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018, the manga has achieved a circulation exceeding 35 million copies. Recognized for its unpredictable plot twists and shocking reveals, Chainsaw Man was ranked No. 1 in the male category of Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2021.
The series has expanded beyond the manga pages, with a TV anime adaptation airing from October to December 2022, and a stage production. A theatrical film, Chainsaw Man Reze Arc, has also proven successful, grossing over 10.7 billion yen at the box office. A sequel anime, Chainsaw Man Assassin Arc, is confirmed to be in development.
