Chicago Protests ICE Amid Border Patrol Presence

Protesters gathered late tuesday afternoon in downtown Chicago to demonstrate against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Here’s what you need to know:

The protest began at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Wacker Drive and Michigan Avenue. Hundreds of demonstrators showed up near Michigan Avenue.

Just hours before the protest, U.S. Border Patrol’s Gregory Bovino posted a video on social media showing agents patrolling the Chicago River. This video was filmed last week.

This rally followed Governor JB Pritzker’s announcement on Monday that military troops could be deployed to Chicago at the request of the Department of homeland Security.
