Chronoswiss Explores Gravity with New Space Timer Edition

Chronoswiss, known for its regulator watches and skeletonized chronographs, continues to evolve its design language with a focus on expressive and colorful aesthetics. The Space Timer collection, inspired by the cosmos, is central to this shift. The new Space Timer Gravity edition delves into the fundamental force that governs the universe: gravity.

A Familiar Foundation, a New Perspective

The Space Timer Gravity maintains the classic Chronoswiss 44mm stainless steel case, featuring straight lugs, a knurled bezel and the signature onion crown. The case is finished in matte grey, intended to minimize reflections and highlight the dial. With a 15.2mm thickness, the watch offers a substantial presence on the wrist. It is water-resistant to 100 meters, thanks to sapphire crystals on both sides and a screw-down caseback.1

Dial Details: A Cosmic Construction

The dial, composed of 63 components, combines hand-guilloché surfaces, laser-engraved elements, and color-shifting CVD coatings that transition between deep green and blue depending on the light. The left side of the dial features a laser-textured lunar landscape, recreated using NASA imagery in subtle relief. The hand-guilloché portion is designed to evoke the appearance of an atmosphere viewed from orbit.23

Regulator Display Reimagined

Chronoswiss retains its regulator display, but with a reinterpretation. The hours are positioned off-center, closer to the 12 o’clock mark, while the minutes and seconds hands are centrally mounted. Transparent ITR2 rings (a high-end composite) for the hour and date indications appear to float above the dial, revealing the openworked gear train beneath. Super-LumiNova ceramic cylinders mark the hours, and the moon phase globe is integrated within the date subdial ring.

Calibre C.308: Powering the Gravity

The Space Timer Gravity is powered by the automatic Chronoswiss Calibre C.308, based on the ETA 2895 with an in-house regulator module. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 42 hours. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, showcasing perlage, polished components, and a skeletonized rotor.

Limited Edition and Availability

The watch is paired with a grey nubuck leather strap and a pin buckle. Production is limited to 50 pieces, emphasizing the exclusivity of the Space Timer concept. The Space Timer Gravity is priced at EUR 23,400 (including taxes) and is available for order through the Chronoswiss website.1
